Born and raised in the town of Wallasey in the North West of England close to the City of Liverpool. Karl currently lives in the Dordogne in the South West of France, he is inspired and influenced by the photography of his wife Joanne and by the artwork of his Great Grandfather. Other influences come from living in the French countryside among its medieval towns and villages as well as his enjoyment of walking and exploring in the great outdoors and being close to the waterside.

Being self-taught after studying at home throughout 2012 and 2013, he restarted in 2020 as part of an Art Therapy Course undertaken during Chemotherapy for Stage 4 Cancer. Creating art played a large part in helping to come through the treatment and after recovering has now become a continuing passion.

His medium of choice is Acrylic Paint on Canvas, using scale drawing to create accurate compositions and depth along with mixing beautiful and vibrant colours. His art is displayed in Private Collections across America & Europe including the UK and France.
