About jeffrey james ward

To describe myself would take a long time, lol. Let me try.

I was born and raised in the Scottish Highlands with two sisters. It was hard at time back then in Scotland, but we always made it through.

I was always a dreamer and love to visit other countries. Basically, just explore the world.

A strange fact is at school I never enjoyed art; it was always still life which did not interest me. At the age of 20 I found my father's oil paints and began to paint. Oh, my first was so so bad. lol I continued to paint until one day I saw one of my paintings for sale in the art shop front window. I was horrified as I had no confidence, but my mother believed in my art and had handed in into the shop.

It took about 3 days to sell, and I had to do another one and then another and so on. Commision work came in and I grew quite busy.  Where would be without our mothers?

The series of paintings were mostly of what the past was like in our city. The series was called. Memories.

That series is still going on as I sold another last week. This month I have had 2 military scenes to complete for clients and a rather large beech and sea scape. I love the test commissions give me.

Now I live with my wife and three children on Lombok Island although I work in Australia.

I am passionate about my art and put my soul into what I paint which i hope you can see. I love to paint scenes that give a feeling of what's happening or just the mood of the moment.

This week I will start my first painting of a Harley motorbike as commissioned work. Sounds like fun.

I lost touch with my art a little with the pleasures of work but now I am freer to paint.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Warm regards

Jeff J
