About the work
Perched on the roof ledge, the statue – Event Horizon overlooked the financial centre of Hong Kong. Aptly named, the title of the artwork redefined latitude as well as altitude on location. The stillness of the statue maintained a certain dialogue with the built environment. The difference in their scales was somehow reduced. One might say: “It’s all a matter of perspective.”
This image was taken at the garden of Former Explosives Magazine depot, Admiralty, Hong Kong. It has been contextualized to adopt a more grainy and muted tone.
The sculpture was a work by Antony Gormley (1950 - ), which was shown in London, New York, Sao Paulo and Hong Kong from 2007 to 2015.
